3 Bouts to Watch at ONE: Fists of Fury III

The “Fists Of Fury” event series will come to a close on Friday, March 19, as ONE Championship presents ONE: Fists Of Fury III, a previously recorded event from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

3 Bouts to Keep an Eye on at ONE: Fists of Fury III

The exciting card will be capped off by a ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship bout between Regian Eersel and Mustapha Haida, but the event will also feature four strong mixed martial arts bouts on the six-bout bill.

Which of the bouts should you circle to make sure you don’t miss on Friday morning? Here is a look at the three matches you won’t want to miss.

Janet Todd vs. Alma Juniku

Outside of mixed martial arts action, the ONE Super Series Muay Thai co-main event deserves your attention. American Janet “J.T.” Todd returns to her Muay Thai roots in an attempt to lock down the top contender spot against Alma Juniku.

But the Aussie is an aggressive, fast-paced striker in her own right. The young gun of the division is hoping to topple the reigning ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion and make her own name on the global stage.

The stylistic matchup should ensure three rounds of furious action.

Fans of the striking arts need to be strapped in for this possible title eliminator.

Yodkaikaew Fairtex vs. Hu Yong

The opening contest of the evening is a contender for Match of the Night.

Rising Thai contender Yodkaikaew Fairtex has looked incredible since returning to mixed martial arts action in 2020. The three-year hiatus from the sport saw him make tremendous strides in his grappling, and he used it to have a perfect 3-0 year.

But Hu Yong won’t be an easy out.

Expect an exhilarating finish to get the event underway. The flyweight division is constant action no matter who is inside the Circle, but this matchup adds an extra spark with incredible finishers.

Alex Silva vs. Hiroba Minowa

Former ONE Strawweight World Champion Alex “Little Rock” Silva is back in action in the hopes of climbing the ranks again, but Japan’s Hiroba Minowa is ready to crash the party.

The young 21-year-old picked-up a big debut win against Lito Adiwang at ONE: Inside The Matrix III last October, and this bout poses a big jump-up in competition. But that also means it is a massive opportunity for the 12-2 warrior.

Given the landscape of the division, Joshua Pacio will be keeping a keen eye on this contest. A win for Minowa could leap-frog him into the rankings and make him a serious player in 2021.

Can Silva defend his #5 ranking in the division, or will this mark a youth movement in the strawweight division?

ONE: Fists Of Fury III airs on B/R Live at 8:30 a.m. EST/5:30 a.m. PST on Friday, March 19.
