ONE Championship is set to debut on TNT in primetime on Wednesday, April 7. The six-bout event features a non-stop slate of action-packed bouts, and it will kick-off with a heavyweight mixed martial arts contest featuring one of the most captivating newcomers in the sport.
Senegalese wrestling sensation “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane will meet Iran’s Mehdi Barghi in the opening contest of ONE on TNT.

Barghi is no slouch in his own right. The training partner of Amir Aliakbari has a perfect 100% finishing rate and excellent wrestling. Before the stunning comeback win from Ji Won Kang in their match at ONE: Unbreakable III, Barghi was controlling the action with his grappling.
But it is Oumar Kane who has drawn the interest of fans throughout the world. The Black Panther Sports representative has taken social media by storm with his hulking presence and fascinating background.

His undefeated Sengalese wrestling career helped spark interest before he transitioned into mixed martial arts, but then his two performances, including his ONE debut victory over Alain Ngalani, have stoked the flames even higher.
“Reug Reug” and his growing legion of fans will now get a chance to leave their mark on 2021 by being the first bout on the highly anticipated ONE on TNT event series.
But the stylistic matchup will be a true telling point of where he is at in his development as a mixed martial artist.
Both men have a grappling base that could nullify one another and force them to test out their striking game. If so, a glimpse into how far they have come along in that department will establish where they stand within the division among many well-rounded talents who want to make their own claim for a title shot.
There is no rush for either man to jump the line, but there is an interest in seeing their growth. Both athletes have good upside in the division as they continue to round out their games.
For Oumar Kane, fans are intrigued and want to jump on board his hype train. And it could be leaving the station on April 7.
ONE’s heavyweight division is hotter than it has ever been before. In the past year, multiple additions to the roster have made it highly competitive and leaves ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera with a host of contenders chomping at the bit to knock him off his throne.
