A massive fight is upon us at UFC 262. Welterweight’s Leon Edwards and Nate Diaz will square off in the first-ever five-round non-title fight in UFC history.
ESPN was first to report the news.
Nathan Diaz vs. Leon Edwards is set for UFC 262 on May 15 in Houston, per sources.
And, in a twist, the fight will be the first five-round non-title co-main event in UFC history.

Nate Diaz vs. Leon Edwards set for UFC 262
Edwards (18-3, 1NC) returned after a 20-month hiatus against Belal Muhammad at UFC Vegas 21. That bout ended with an unfortunate eye poke, and was declared a no-contest when Muhammad was unable to continue. Prior to that no-contest, Edwards was riding a eight-fight winning streak.
Diaz (20-12) will make his first Octagon appearance since his 2019 loss to Jorge Masvidal for the BMF championship. In his last 10 outings, Diaz is 5-5.
