ONE on TNT III hits the airwaves on Wednesday, April 21, with a five-bout slate of nonstop excitement.
4 Questions ahead of ONE on TNT III
In the main event, top-ranked bantamweight contender John “Hands of Stone” Lineker meets “Pretty Boy” Troy Worthen with a possible title shot on the line against Bibiano Fernandes. It is a high-stakes battle with a strong card leading its way to the top.
What do you need to know going into the latest primetime edition of ONE Championship?
Here are four questions that will be answered when the lights get turned on in Singapore.
Can John Lineker Punch His Title Ticket at ONE on TNT III?
Don’t blink. John Lineker is back!
The Brazilian bruiser will main event the latest edition of the TNT event series opposite an unheralded American. Troy Worthen has made the switch to Sanford MMA and is refining his skills. The Florida resident has a strong wrestling game that he hopes can stifle the power of Lineker.
But “Hands of Stone” has a potential title bid on the line, and that will make sure he is as aggressive as ever with Bibiano Fernandes looming.
If Lineker can shutdown the American’s wrestling and use his crushing power to get another victory, Lineker will be set-up for a date with destiny and the ONE Bantamweight World Championship.
Who Will Fight Eddie Alvarez?
Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez did not get the result he wanted at ONE on TNT I, but fate will bring him back to ONE on TNT IV. And we will find out who he will face on Wednesday.
Lightweight contenders Marat Gafurov and Ok Rae Yoon will battle it out and the winner will meet Alvarez on Wednesday, April 28.
This is a massive chance for all involved. If either of the athletes gets a meeting with Alvarez, it will enhance their stock on a global platform. For Alvarez, he will be getting a quick turnaround to redeem himself while making a case to challenge Christian Lee for the ONE Lightweight World Championship.
We will find out the matchup in just a couple of days.
Which Flyweight Can Make A Statement?
Not to be forgotten is a key flyweight contest between Reece “Lightning” McLaren and Yuya Wakamatsu.
Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes knocked out Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson at ONE on TNT I, and that leaves an opening for the next title challenger. Both of these incredible flyweights have an opportunity to state their claim at ONE on TNT III.
Even if a title tilt doesn’t come right away, a victory will put them in a prime position as 2021 rolls onward.
Will John Wayne Parr Make a Triumphant Return?
With all of the mixed martial arts action going on it can be easy to overlook the ONE Super Series bout on the card. But you don’t want to do that.
Living legend John Wayne Parr is returning and this time he will put on four-ounce gloves to compete in ONE Super Series Muay Thai action with #1-ranked lightweight kickboxing contender Nieky Holzken.
The meeting will be action-packed and test Parr in his return. The catchweight affair is a showcase of the elite and striking fans will want to tune in to be sure.
Will Holzken shine or can Parr return in style and make a case at extending an already magnificent career?
