ONE Championship will follow up on their extraordinary month of April with a heavyweight title tilt in May.
ONE: Dangal Preview for May 15 Event
On Saturday, May 15, ONE: Dangal will see ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera return to the Circle to defend the gold against “Singh” Arjan Bhullar in the main event.
Vera has run roughshod over the division since arriving in ONE, but the heavyweight waters are as deep as ever in 2021. Bhullar is riding a three-bout win streak into the contest after making a successful promotional debut against Mauro Cerilli at ONE: Century Part II.
The American Kickboxing Academy standout has called for a shot against Vera since arriving in ONE and will finally get his opportunity. Vera will be attempting to keep his heavyweight record in ONE perfect and continue his streak of finishes as he has knocked out every heavyweight opponent to date.
ONE Super Series action will take the role of the co-main event as Tawanchai PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym meets Sean Clancy in a bantamweight affair.
Before the ONE Atomweight World Grand Prix gets underway, Ritu “The Indian Tigress” Phogat will have a stiff challenge from Bi “Killer Bee” Nguyen. The American will be trying to give Phogat her first-ever professional loss and make a strong case for her rise in the division.
Phogat has looked outstanding since making her transition into mixed martial arts. The talented wrestler has continued to improve in all areas of her game. With each new performance, a new Phogat appears and her rise will continue to be fascinating to watch throughout 2021.
In an exciting catchweight bout, Ayaka Miura returns to meet Rayane Bastos.
Bastos is coming off an incredible submission victory over Sovannahry Em at ONE: Mark of Greatness. An equally impressive performance against Miura could send the Brazilian rising toward the top of the flyweight division where Colbey Northcutt is standing tall.
Canadian-Indian Gurdarshan “Saint Lion” Mangat takes on India’s Roshan Mainam in a matchup that could steal the show. Mainam has been on an incredible streak of three consecutive submission victories inside the Circle.
Kicking off the show will be a meeting between “The Antidote” Anthony Do and Liang “The Little Monster” Hui in what promises to be pure fireworks.
The six-bout card gets underway on Saturday, May 15. Will a new heavyweight era begin, or will “The Truth” continue to be told? There’s only one way to find out, and you’ll want to be sure to catch all of the action.
