UFC Vegas 27 is headlined by a bantamweight showdown between Rob Font (18-4) and Cody Garbrandt (12-3). Both men will be looking for a win to throw them into title contention in the division ruled by Aljamain Sterling. Here are some UFC Vegas 27 betting tips to help you win big this weekend.
UFC Vegas 27 Betting Tips
Jack Hermansson to win outright (-150)
Jack Hermansson (21-6) takes on Edmen Shahbazyan (11-1) on the main card. Both fighters have seen their stock take a significant hit as of late, and both men will need to rebound with a win to re-establish themselves as a genuine contender in the division.
Edmen Shahbazyan’s last octagon appearance was a lopsided loss to Derek Brunson, where Shahbazyan opened as a heavy favorite. “The Golden Boy” has finished 10 of his 11 wins and will hold a fairly significant advantage on the feet. Shahbazyan will look to use his sharp boxing and straight shots to capitalize on Hermansson’s historical weakness with dealing with a stiff jab and right hand behind it.
However, there are plenty of reasons as to why Hermansson holds excellent value as a small favorite. Shahbazyan’s defensive wrestling was largely exposed against Brunson, and the fact that Hermansson’s top pressure is some of the best in the division will give the Swede a lot of confidence going into this contest. Darren Stewart exposed issues with Shahbazyan’s cardio, and Hermansson will look to wear him down on the mat until he searches for a late finish.
Hermansson should win this contest. He has a solid enough chin to deal with Shahbazyan’s early barrage and should be able to exploit his opponent’s weakness in wrestling as the fight goes on. Therefore, “The Joker” is the first inclusion on these UFC Vegas 27 betting tips.
Ricardo Ramos to win outright (+100)
Ricardo Ramos (14-3) was once one of the biggest prospects in the UFC. After a spinning elbow KO victory over Aiemann Zahabi, the division seemed to be at his mercy. However, two knockout losses since then have led to the featherweight being an underdog against Bill Algeo (14-5).
Algeo is a very entertaining fighter and always looks to break his opponents with relentless forward pressure. This strategy has repercussions for his cardio, but given the brutality of Ramos’ KO losses, “Senor Perfecto” will be happy to pour the pressure on early to try and score a quick finish.
In his last loss to Lerone Murphy, Ramos struggled to deal with the physicality of his opponent. Thankfully for the Brazilian, Alego’s lanky frame and style do not lend themselves to exploit this. Ramos’ taste for spectacular fight-ending moments could allow him to capitalize on Algeo’s pressure and catch him with a perfectly-timed counter. Alongside this, Spike Carlyle demonstrated that Algeo has holes in his clinch game. Although Ramos does not possess any spectacular physical attributes, he has some good trips and clinch techniques that could serve him well in this matchup.
The striking battles in this matchup should be relatively even, but Ramos will seek to show his dominance in the grappling exchanges. Because of this, Ramos is an excellent second choice for these UFC Vegas 27 betting tips.
