It’s all about the heavyweights this weekend as Ovince Saint Preux makes another 265lbs conquest but this time against Tanner Boser.
Saint Preux AKA OSP last competed against Jamahal Hill in December where he lost via TKO. However, the finish didn’t come easy as Hill had to methodically work OSP into a corner in order to uncork the finishing shot. Prior to the Hill fight, OSP, no longer the nail-would go on and face Alonzo Menifield in a striking battle as the hammer. In the end, the 25-15 fighting veteran sent the young upstart crashing to the mat with a counter left-hook deep into round 2.

Ovince Saint Preux Attempting To Shut Down The Young Buck
Canada’s Boser presents a different approach to the fighting game. While OSP likes to sit on the outside and patiently wait for the ‘kill shot’, Boser is all about going in for the kill. Despite a 2-fight losing skid, Boser is an exceptional finisher. Boser initially was set to face Alexander Gustafsson but drew his teammate Ilir Latifi instead.
The Canadian has managed to earn ten knockout/TKO victories in his 19 overall wins in MMA competition. However, now more than ever it seems people are questioning whether “The Bulldozer” should be fighting the upper echelon of UFC competition.
Absolutely NO days off for @BulldozerBoser!

Of course, many forget, Boser is only 29-years old and with such an exciting karate style it will be interesting to see where the Canadian fits in the UFC heavyweight landscape. Boser made his professional MMA debut in 2012 with little to no experience. Like a Ronin samurai, Boser developed his skills fighting in different countries like Kazakhstan, Russia, England, United Arab Emirates, and Australia. Suffice to say, he is comfortable with going into enemy territory and attempting to be the conquistador.
Ovince Saint Preux and The Heavyweight Division
Initially, Saint Preux moved up in May of 2020 against Ben Rothwell looking to penetrate the heavyweight division, but the fight didn’t go as planned. Although, the fight was close it would end in a split decision in favor of Rothwell.
After dipping his feet back into the light heavyweight division and notching two fights, OSP is ready for another go at heavyweight. Since Boser likes to keep things standing, if Saint Preux can control the distance and manage the tempo of the fight, then it will be difficult for Boser to mount an effective offense.
At 29-years old Boser will need to establish the speed of the fight and make OSP move because if he doesn’t, then the 23-UFC fight veteran will find a way to get the knockout. OSP has a way of ‘downloading’ the striking of an opponent early on so that later in the fight he can calculate the correct blow to land in order to finish a fight. It is always a treat to watch OSP perform because the 38-year old doesn’t waste movement in the Octagon.
Do you think Ovince Saint Preux can pick up his first win at heavyweight against Tanner Boser?
