The greatest grappler on the planet, Gordon Ryan will face UFC welterweight Philip Rowe in an exhibition match at the upcoming Who’s Number One event (WNO).
Gordon Ryan Takes on Philip Rowe in Exhibition Match
The man known as ‘King’, Gordon Ryan will return to grappling action for the first time since March 2021. He has been sidelined due to a lingering stomach issue. In 2021, Ryan competed only twice, defeating Roberto Jimenez via armbar at WNO 6 and Vagner Rocha via reverse triangle at WNO 7. Haters and fans will both be excited to see Ryan return to the professional grappling mats.
Rowe earned his way to the UFC with a valiant knockout of Leon Shahbazyan at a Contender Series event. He has since gone 1-1 inside the octagon. Most recently, the 31-year-old finished Orion Cosce via round two knockout. In 2021, Rowe competed twice on the professional grappling circuit but was unable to secure a victory.
The match will be 15-minutes in length and continue no matter how many submissions occur. So it will be more like a gym training session than a professional grappling match.
