How time flies, as now only two months remain for MMASucka staff picks in 2021. Later today, November 5 will see Bellator 270 take place from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. The main card will begin live at 5:00pm ET (2:00pm PT) on Showtime.

The Fights
After holding the lightweight (155 lbs.) championship for over two years without defending the title, Patricio Pitbull would vacate the belt just one short month ago leaving the spot up for grabs. The opportunity now comes for his younger brother, Patricky Pitbull, as he will take on Peter Queally for the vacant belt in today’s five-round main event.
The fight will come as a rematch, Queally taking the victory in their first meeting by doctor stoppage last May. Now with two straight wins, the SBG Ireland talent will target the biggest accomplishment of his mixed martial arts career. Meanwhile, Pitbull gets a second shot at gold having suffered a defeat in his first promotional title shot to former champion Michael Chandler in June of 2016. The Brazilian also hopes to rebound after two straight losses, aiming to avenge the prior defeat to his headlining opponent today.

Bantamweights (135 lbs.) James Gallagher and Patchy Mix will faceoff in the co-main event slot. The fight will be competed at a catchweight of 137.8 pounds with Mix just missing the divisional limit of 136 pounds.
Fabian Edwards’ scheduled opponent, Robert Fonseca, was unable to finish paperwork due to stepping in as a last-minute replacement. As a result, the middleweight (185 lbs.) fight has been cancelled and both men have been pulled from the card. Only three fights will be counted for our Bellator 270 staff picks which can be found further below.
Staff Picks
Throughout the calendar year, staff picks will be composed of main card fights from both UFC and Bellator events. Main card fights and selected preliminary fights will be selected for PFL MMA. Dana White’s Contender Series will be composed of the full fight card.
The WINNER of staff picks in 2021 will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBelts or a chain from Championship Chains. For the third straight year, Michael DeSantis captured the 2020 victory compiling a record of 201-88.
