Combate Global 27 Results

Combate Global returns to Univision Studios in Miami, Florida to host its 27th event of the year. MMA Sucka will keep you updated with live results for this card and many more.

In the headliner, Ernesto Ibarra (5-1) and Gerardo Graniel (7-2) face off in a bantamweight scrap. A product of the quality Blackxicans team based out of Baja, California, Ibarra is more than game every time he steps in the cage. In his last bout he suffered his first pro loss in Combate Global’s bantamweight tournament earlier this year. Ibarra has quite the intriguing style; he is considered a well-rounded martial artist, however, he’s a Jiu-Jitsu purple belt and is known for his ground game. In his five pro wins, three have come by way of finish.

The 25-year-old faces his toughest test to date in Gerardo Graniel. Graniel makes the second walk of his career to La Jaula after a victory at Combate Global 18. He tends to do his best work on the feet and he does serious damage from there. In his seven pro wins, three have come by way of TKO. Graniel does his training at Academia Central Bonebreakers in Mexico City. Overall expect fireworks from these two top 20 Mexican bantamweight prospects.

Kristina Pettigrew (1-1) and Montserrat Rendon (2-0) are slated for tonight’s featured women’s bantamweight co-main event. Invicta veteran Pettigrew makes her way back to her home state of Florida to make her second career walk to La Jaula. Not only will this be her return to Combate, but it will be her first bout in quite some time. Pettigrew is talented martial artist and a game opponent for many 135ers. She expects to be aggressive on the feet and show off her improved technique. Pettigrew does her training at Alliance MMA with the likes of Angela Hill, Jessica Penne and Lauren Mueller.

Montserrat Rendon seeks to spoil the 35-year-olds return to the Sunshine State. The undefeated Mexican standout, is a complete martial artist. Like Pettigrew, she makes her second Combate Global appearance tonight. Rendon is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt and is a very crafty submission specialist. She does solid work in the clinch and is quite aggressive on the feet. Rendon does her training at ECR Fight Center in Cancun. These two highly touted bantamweights are set for a war in La Jaula tonight.

Also on the card, Sanford MMA’s, Chris Boasso (3-1), Mexico’s, Miguel Gonzalez (4-1) and Dragon House MMA’s Cesar Hernandez-Arauz (2-0).
