Despite what he has said before, Dan Hooker is starting to be open to any and all ideas to get back on track in the UFC and his MMA career.

Dan Hooker Eyeing a Weight Class Move After Recent Run
Hooker has stated before that after moving from featherweight to lightweight, it would take an insane amount of money to move back down to that weight after enjoying the new lightweight cut. Based on the never-ending debate of fighter pay we can’t see UFC president, Dana White giving him that but they make it worthwhile by giving him a new career run.
Hooker has looked so much healthier and is a bigger lightweight with his six-foot frame so the thought of him making the cut again at this point in his career may be tougher than one would think. Despite Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar making it look easier somehow with the age they are at, they also have the smaller frame that helps it all.
Despite all of this, Hooker seems committed to making a change of some sort after three losses in his last four bouts. On a recent episode of TheMacLife’s Pub Talk podcast thought, Hooker discussed the idea of a change while discussing his diet.
“Gotta make your next move your best move…let’s just say I’m working with the UFC and a fight dietician very closely and I’m doing a little test run…”
The move to featherweight just doesn’t make sense if we are being honest.
He has seen the best results of his career at lightweight, his three losses are to top-notch talent in the division, and his City Kickboxing teammate, Alexander Volkanovski is the champion of the division. A move to welterweight equally doesn’t make sense which leaves Hooker between a rock and hard place, he has the talent though to make a turn around he just needs to make it right between the ears.
What he and the other City Kickboxing fighters have been through in the last year would mess anyone up but with restrictions constantly being lifted in Australia and New Zealand he may have a chance to get straight mentally. The rumors of the team leaving the country seem to have quieted down so the team itself will be looking to get straight as a whole.
2022 could be a big year for Dan Hooker, the question is just what weight class could it be in.
