ONE Championship is back and broadcasting from the Singapore Indoor Stadium with ONE NextGen III. This event features MMA, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai. It will be happening on Friday, November 26 at 8:30 PM SGT/8:30 AM EST/12:30 PM GMT, and MMA Sucka has fight fans covered with the event’s results.
ONE NEXTGEN III
ONE NextGen III features an exciting main event showdown. This event features some major up-and-coming talent. Lito Adiwang, from the Philippines, is a very exciting and entertaining fighter. Training out of Lakay Central Gym he is currently on a two-fight win streak in ONE Championship and impressively has won more than half his fights via KO/TKO. In fact, 85% of his victories have come by way of finish. His most recent win was just at the end of September when he defeated Hexigetu Hexi, in an extremely exciting match. Adiwang is ranked #5 in ONE Championship‘s Strawweight division.
Facing Adiwang in the main event will be a newcomer to ONE Championship, but a veteran of MMA; Jarred Brooks. Brooks has fought all over the world including PANCRASE, Bellator, RIZIN, and he went 2-2 in the UFC. His final fight in the UFC was a victory over Roberto Sanchez, and his most recent MMA fight was a victory over Haruo Ochi in Bellator. They call him “The Monkey God” and Brooks will be aiming to leave a lasting impact when debuts in the main event of ONE NextGen III.
“I believe I’m the better fighter here because I really believe that I am one of the best in the world.” Lito Adiwang said, “My mindset, the whole team, me — I really believe that I am here for a reason and that this is my destiny, to become a champion. If Jarred decides to make a mistake and tries to strike with me, I believe it’s going to be an early night for him. If he tries to wrestle and tries to control me on the ground, yeah, I’ll fight. I’ll showcase my wrestling and ground game also. I’m not looking past Jarred but after this fight, I’m really going to push for the [Rodtang] fight.”
Brooks considers Adiwang a stepping stone in his future career with ONE Championship, saying, “He’s in the top five and he seems like a gatekeeper in the division right now. I think that beating him would definitely put me in the top five. Beating Lito Adiwang, everybody’s here like ‘Oh, you’re going against Adiwang?’ Like he’s a boogeyman or something like that. But I’m excited to fight him and I’m excited to show everybody that I can beat the king of the division. People can watch me all they want and have their say on how they think I fight, but at the end of the day, they have to feel me. They have to literally feel me and see, one, how strong I am and two, my fight IQ is very, very high. I’ve studied the game since I was pretty much born. I think I’m the best in the division and the reason why is because of those two. I’m super strong. If I get a hold of you, I feel like I’m 200 pounds on top of you, and any opponent that has gone against me will attest to that.”
And in the co-main event the former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Alaverdi Ramazanov, of Russia, will return to his origins of Muay Thai against the tough and multiple-time Lumpinee Muay Thai World Champion in the Thai-born, Pongsiri. “With neither man willing to take a backward step, it’s going to be a bruising encounter,” says ONE Championship.
Also featured is Alex Silva of Brazil, who will be looking to continue his winning ways against the Filipino Rene Catalan. Catalan will be fighting hard for a win against the more experienced Silva. Plus, a kickboxing fight between Thai fighter Panpayak Jitmuangnon against Daniel Puertas, a Spanish kickboxer.
