One of KSW bosses, Maciej Kawulski, was a guest in a popular internet program, ‘Klatka po klatce’ (Cage after the cage), where he has discussed various topics. The most important was that concerning the return of former KSW Middleweight champion, Michał Materla. Kawulki has confirmed, that the Szczecin born fighter has received a contract offer from the promotion. If he decides to accept he would fight in his hometown at KSW 66.

The situation is clear. I think Michał is at a point in his career where, first of all, we have already done everything we could do for ourselves, we have no obligations towards each other and I really care about pure rhetoric. (…) We made him an offer, assessing the questionable last few months of his existence and functioning in the MMA world, because it is primarily a not very successful project of an organization that did not achieve any success, and out of 10 things that had to be done, 10 were done wrong. On the other hand, also not very exciting fights performed by Michał.

Materla left the KSW organization to fight under the EFM Show, a promotion in which he and his brother had a strong interest in, including financial investment, only to both of them leave it behind a few weeks ago. The promotion struggled due to poor PPV sales and its’ future is unknown. Materla last fight took place at EFM Show 2, where he defeated Moise Rimbon by an anonymous decision. Before that he lost by TKO due to punches to Roberto Soldic at KSW 56.
