Will Fame MMA follow in KSW’s footsteps and host an event at Warsaw PGE National Stadium? It’s quite possible, and according to Krzysztof Rozpara, one of Fame MMA’s promoters, it may happen next year.
Fame MMA Planning on Hosting Stadium Show Next Year
During his interview with popular MMA commentator Łukasz Jurkowski, Rozpara has admitted that Fame MMA management have thought about it for some time now.
“I think it’s a matter of time. (…) We haven’t sold the largest hall in Poland yet, Tauron Arena. We are just trying to do it, but I must admit that there are ideas to actually try to hold an event at ‘Narodowy’. We would like to organize an event in Warsaw, but unfortunately, there is not a large enough facility there, such a typical indoor one, so I think this National Stadium is our next step.”
He also added that such a big event at such a large arena requires unique and intriguing matchups for fans, and it all could go down next year.
Fame MMA was started in 2018 and has held 12 events to date. Most of them have taken place in Poland’s biggest arenas, including Arena Gliwice and Ergo Arena in Gdansk. Thanks to matchups between popular YouTubers and other internet and show business celebrities such as Popek Monster, in just three years the promotion became a force to be reckoned with. Interestingly, the promotion has attracted some well-known names from MMA, such as Marcin Wrzosek, Borys Mankowski, and Norman Parke.
Now Fame MMA is willing to do the same thing that KSW did over four years ago with its Colosseum event. Headlined by a bout between Mamed Khalidov and Borys Manskowski, the fight card gathered a record-setting crowd of over 57,000. It will be interesting to see if Fame MMA will be able to repeat KSW’s success.
