Bruno Silva will meet Jordan Wright in a middleweight bout to kick off the preliminary card at UFC 269. Both men are in the primes of their careers and will be looking to climb the ranks in the UFC’s middleweight division. The prelims will be broadcast on ESPN+ and will start at 8:00 pm ET/5:00 pm PT. UFC 269 is set to be headlined by lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira taking on Dustin Poirier. In the co-main event, Amanda Nunes will defend her bantamweight title against Julianna Pena.

Bruno Silva

Bruno Silva is 2-0 since joining the UFC with TKO wins over Wellington Turman and Andrew Sanchez. He has a professional record of 21-6, with 18 of those wins being by knockout. Five of his six losses are by submission and he has only been knocked out once in his career. Prior to getting into the UFC, Silva went 2-0 in M-1 knocking out Alexander Shlemenko in his M-1 debut. Bruno Silva took a three-year layoff after his knockout over Artem Frolov in 2018. His return to the sport got him a contract in the UFC, and he is now looking to climb the middleweight ranks in the best MMA promotion in the world.

Bruno Silva trains at Evolucao Thai MMA in Curitiba, Brazil. He has been fighting professionally since 2010 and has fought all over the world in various different promotions. He even got a shot at The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3, where he was knocked out by former UFC veteran Vitor Miranda. Silva is 12-2 since losing to Miranda and has finished 10 of those 12 wins by knockout.

Jordan Wright

Jordan Wright has a professional record of 12-1-1 with his only loss being a knockout loss to Joaquin Buckley at UFC 255. Wright has finished all 12 of his wins with seven of those wins being by knockout. He is currently 2-1 in the UFC with TKO wins over Ike Villanueva and Jamie Pickett. Prior to getting his shot in the UFC, Wright had only fought three opponents with more than one win in their career. One of those fights was a no-contest against Anthony Hernandez on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018. That fight was originally ruled a TKO victory for Hernandez but was overturned due to a positive marijuana test following the fight.

Wright currently trains out of Dynamix MMA in Los Angeles, California. He is a brown belt in Karate and a brown belt in Pencak Silat. He will come into this fight with Silva with a two-inch height advantage and a three-inch reach advantage. Wright will also come into this fight with a grappling advantage. Silva has been fighting for a long time, but he has never fought as good of a grappler as Jordan Wright. On the other hand, Wright has never fought as good of a striker as Bruno Silva. This fight will be an amazing showcase of grappler versus striker to see who will climb the middleweight rankings.

I also have a YouTube channel where I do fight companions and UFC fight previews. I have recently started to train in mma and would like to have my first fight in 2020. I believe that as a journalist I need to experience what these fighters go threw, in order to understand their POV.
