Day one of Cage Warriors: Double Trouble starts today in London, England, featuring a pair of title fights. Matthew Bonner will confront his first test as a Cage Warriors champion, but before that, a new lightweight champion will arise. Keep it right here at MMA Sucka for full Cage Warriors 131 results.
Matthew Bonner has emerged as an unlikely champion at middleweight when he submitted two-time champion Nathias Frederick in June. In today’s main event, he’ll face relatively-unknown Djati Melan (7-0) of Ireland. Born in Cote d’Ivoire and raised in Ireland, Melan hasn’t fought in two years. The Cage Warriors brass must know something about the talent of Melan to know Bonner vs. Melan makes for a worthy main event in their year-end finale.
Other European standouts on the card include Christian Duncan, Will Currie, and Adam Cullen.
