Add Renan Barao to the list of fighters signed by Eagle Fighting Championship.

In preparation for the U.S. debut event, Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s Eagle Fighting Championship is signing fighter after fighter, as Rashad Evans, Antonio Silva, and Tyrone Spong all were already announced to fight on Jan. 28 in Miami, Florida. According to Super Lutas, Nurmagomedov’s promotion has acquired the services of former UFC bantamweight champion Barao.

The WEC and UFC veteran has left the world’s biggest promotion after a five-fight losing streak. His last fight took place on November 16th of 2019 at UFC Fight Night 164 in his native Brazil. He lost via unanimous decision to Douglas Silva de Andrade. After that, he has been associated with several smaller promotions such as Taura FC, and Premier FC, but he has never fought for either of them.

He was scheduled to fight Tyson Duckworth on Nov. 19 at Premier FC 32, but the Alaskan fighter has withdrawn at the very last moment. Barao, who has just finished his preparation camp at Pitbulls Brothers Gym has resumed training to keep his form.
