Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will return to the boxing ring against former fellow UFC fighter, Leonardo Guimaraes. Nogueira’s bout will be in 220 pounds weight class and it will serve as the co-main event of the Fight Music Show on January 30th in Brazil.

The Fight Music Show promotion was inspired by the success and the popularity of the Paul Brothers fights held in the United States. The main event will be a fight in 165 pounds weight class between former WBO and WBA champion Acelino Freitas and Brazilian YouTube superstar, Whindersson Nunes. The fight card also includes the Olympic boxing silver medalist Esquiva Falcao who will take on the star of Brazilian Big Brother, Yuri Fernandes.

Nogueira retired in July 2020 after losing to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC on ESPN 14. This was his second loss in the row. The “Minotauro”, who has competed with success in boxing in the past, fought 13 times in the UFC, and won six of these fights. Before joining the world’s top MMA promotion, the Brazilian also fought in PRIDE FC, where he was one of the leading figures in the middleweight division. His boxing opponent, Guimaraes, fought twice in the UFC in 2016, losing both matches.

The newly established organization of Fight Music Show is planning three more events for 2022 and is negotiating with the legendary Wanderlei Silva to book him in a boxing match. His son, Thor Silva, was scheduled to fight in January but withdrew from the event due to an injury.

Fight Music Show CEO, Mama Brito stated in his recent interview with MMA Fighting that the event will also feature other attractions, such as pocket shows including popular Wesley Sadadao and guitar duels. One of Brazil most popular comedians, Tirulipa will be the ring announcer.
