Katie Taylor is ‘on the brink‘ of the biggest fight of her career with Amanda Serrano. Taylor’s promoter, Eddie Hearn hinted on ‘The Dazn Boxing Show’ that the fight is closer than ever and will likely take place on April 30th at the Hulu Theater (per Mike Coppinger). Hearn also noted that the fight is ‘the biggest fight in the history of female boxing. And it’s going to be a massive fight for boxing in 2022.’
Eddie Hearn said today that contracts are being finalized for the Katie Taylor-Amanda Serrano undisputed female lightweight title fight. ESPN is told the fight could land on April 30 and that all parties, including MSG, are committed to main arena rather than Hulu Theater.

Katie Taylor
Ireland’s Katie Taylor had a stellar amateur career, picking up multiple gold medals in the European Championships, World Championships and also picked up an Olympic gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. Making her professional debut after a disappointing outing in the 2016 Olympics, she looked flawless early on in her career.
It took just seven professional fights for her to capture a world title, defeating Anahi Sanchez in 2017. She picked up the IBF belt Victoria Bustos in her ninth fight going 10 rounds. Interestingly, in her 11th professional fight, she took on Amanda Serrano’s older sister, Cindy Serrano. Taylor dominated Serrano, scoring 100-90 on all three scorecards and producing a shutout in what was Serrano’s last professional fight.
Taylor captured the WBO strap when she TKO’d Rose Volante in 2019 and picked up the WBC and The Ring lightweight titles against the veteran, Delfine Persoon in her next bout, leading to her becoming the undisputed lightweight champion.
Amanda Serrano
Serrano, like Taylor, is one of the faces of women’s boxing. With a record of 42-1-1, including a massive 30 knockouts (a rare fete in women’s boxing), Serrano is a guaranteed Hall of Famer. The Puerto Rican has picked up a massive nine major titles across seven different weight classes.
As of late, she has become far more well known as she has featured on Jake Paul‘s undercards. Serrano has pulled Jake Paul in to be one of her managers and it’s clearly working. The two have an excellent working relationship and it’s been extremely beneficial for Serrano.
Had a great meeting w/my Manager Nakisa 2day. We talked our History in the Makings yr coming up 😉
Also Congrats to my other manager @jakepaul on his ‘Sports Illustrated 2021 breakout boxer of the yr award’ This young man is Amazing!

Serrano will be the smaller girl in the ring as she usually competes at featherweight, which has a 9 st (126lbs) limit, whereas Taylor competes up at lightweight, which is 9st 9lbs (135lbs). Whether this will have a big impact on the fight is yet to be known. What we do know, however, is that it is the fight to make and things are certainly trending in the right direction.
