Cage Warriors announced that Darren Stewart will make his return to the promotion after a 14 fight stint in the UFC.

‘The Dentist’ made his UFC debut back in 2016 after winning after stacking up the 7 fight winning streak, including four bouts in the CageWarriors cage. His debut fight in the octagon ended with a no contest and was followed by three losses.

Between 2018 – 2020 he won five out of seven fights, including wins over Deron Winn and Eric Spicely. Stewart was released by UFC after losing the past four bouts, being bested by Kevin Holland, Eryk Anders, and Dustin Jacoby. Another bout against Anders was turned into a no-contest due to an illegal knee strike.

What’s interesting is Stewart made a one-time return to British promotion at the CW 113, when the card suffered turmoil due to the Covid-19 pandemic and lost to Bartosz Fabiński

Cage Warriors president, Graham Boylan spoke about ‘The Dentist’ return to Cage warriors:

‘It’s great to have Darren back with us. Darren is a firm fan favorite and I’m sure that when he makes his first in cage appearance, the fans will let us know just how much they have missed him in Cage Warriors. With Darren’s exciting style and UFC experience, I’m sure we are going to be able to match him in some incredible bouts!’

Stewart also shared his thoughts on his return:

‘It’s good to be back fighting at home. After being released from the UFC I was on the verge of not fighting anymore or at least for a longtime. I had a chat with Graham (Boylan) and he still has hope and believes in me which gave me the will to come back and continue this journey.’
