Bare Knuckle FC continues its policy of acquiring former UFC fighters as the promotion announced on Monday that Jimmie Rivera has signed on the dotted line.
BKFC Welcomes UFC Vet Jimmie Rivera
The potential signing was hinted by Rivera’s manager a few months ago, when he was released by the UFC. On Monday, BKFC announced via press release and the promotion’s social media that Rivera finally signed the deal and is scheduled to debut at BKFC 25 on Friday, May 6th. The event is set to take place in Orlando, Florida. Rivera’s opponent is to be announced very soon. He follows in the footsteps of fellow UFC alumnus such as Chad Mendes, Mike Perry, Paige VanZant, Rachel Ostovich, Chris Leben, Hector Lombard amongst many more.

Rivera debuted in the UFC in 2015, and fought 11 times against top-caliber opponents during his tenure. He began his UFC stint in very strong fashion with a five-fight winning streak including victories over Marcus Brimage, Pedro Munhoz, Iuri Alcantara, Urijah Faber, and Thomas Almeida. He competed once in the main event at UFC Fight Night 131, when he lost in the first round to Marion Moraes. He lost 3 out of the last 4 of his fights with the sole victory coming by way of Unanimous Decision over Cody Stamann.
MMA Sucka will report the development of the whole situation including the announcement of Rivera’s opponent for the BKFC debut.
