Evan Elder, a 7-0 lightweight prospect, is set to make his UFC debut on a few days’ notice up a weight class against Preston Parsons (9-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC), according to his management, Iridium Sports Agency. The two are set to clash at UFC Vegas 52 on Saturday from the UFC APEX.

Parsons was scheduled to fight Louis Cosce before Cosce tested positive for the coronavirus. Parsons lost his lone UFC appearance to date against Daniel Rodriguez.

Elder, meanwhile, was slated to fight UFC veteran Cody Pfister at FAC 13 for the Fighting Alliance Championship lightweight title on May 6 before he got the call to make his UFC debut.

Elder has fought for three promotions during his time on the regional circuit: FAC, LFA, and Shamrock FC. He was set to fight his biggest test to date in Pfister. Instead, he’ll get it on a grander stage against Parsons.

Elder holds victories over Marcus Andrusia and Paris Padilla. His lone blemish in MMA was an amateur loss to “Violent Bob Ross” Luis Pena via unanimous decision for Shamrock FC in April 2016.

Most of Elder’s fights have come at lightweight.
