Updated: GLORY Kickboxing Issues Official Statement

Updated as of May 10, 2022.

GLORY Kickboxing has issued an official statement regarding this event:

“We are disappointed by the circumstances surrounding GLORY RIVALS 1, an event scheduled for 21 May in Antwerp, Belgium. Promoted by ENFUSION and organized by its local Belgian partner, AFO, GLORY is not involved in any way with the organization of this event nor do we have any link to the local AFO promoter/licensee. We strongly support kickboxing as a clean, professional sport and fully support the Belgian authorities in their actions.

Our GLORY RIVALS program was created to allow our athletes to compete against fighters from local promotions and to help grow the sport of kickboxing. We remain committed to this and will shortly announce information regarding new timing for the bouts of the four GLORY fighters who were set to appear on the 21 May card. The next GLORY RIVALS event is scheduled for 11 June.”

The GLORY 80 Studio event scheduled for May 14 looks to be still on. This will feature the lightweight championship of Tyjani Beztati looking to defend his title against Canadian Josh Jauncey. The event also features the heavyweight clash between Antonio Plazibat, of Croatia, and Morocco’s Tarik Khbabez.
