Two title fights are on the line as our MMASucka staff picks continue on in 2022.
Later tonight, June 10th will see UFC 275 take place from the Singapore Indoor Arena in Kallang. This marks the promotion’s return to the Asian country since October of 2019 where Demian Maia secured his final UFC victory with a submission over Ben Askren. The main card will kick off live on pay-per-view at 10:00pm ET (7:00pm PT) available for purchase through ESPN+.

The Fights
In the night’s featured main event, Glover Teixeira will look to defend his light heavyweight championship against challenger Jiri Prochazka.
Teixeira became the oldest first-time UFC champion with his October submission win of Jan Blachowicz. A win tonight would be his seventh straight dating back to 2019 in a professional mixed martial arts career dating over 20 years. Teixeira’s opponent, Prochazka, has quickly climbed into UFC stardom securing knockouts in his two promotional fights over Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes. The dangerous Czech has finished 27 of his 28 victories having won in 17 of his last 18 appearances.

Our second title fight comes in the co-main event at 125 pounds between Valentina Shevchenko and Taila Santos. Shevchenko will look to further her legacy as one of the greatest fighters in MMA history in search of her seventh flyweight title defense. Santos targets a fifth-straight UFC victory and the biggest win of her career at only 28-years-old.
A scheduled main card fight between Manel Kape and Rogerio Bontorin was pulled on Friday due to weight cut issues from Bontorin. Due to the late change, only four fights will be counted for our MMASucka staff picks. See those from UFC 275 further below.
Staff Picks
Staff picks in 2022 will follow the same set of rules from the 2021 season. Throughout the calendar year, staff picks will be composed of main card fights from both UFC and Bellator events. Main card fights and selected preliminary fights will be included for PFL MMA. Dana White’s Contender Series will be composed of the entire fight card; dates for this promotion’s return are soon-to-be announced.
The WINNER of staff picks in 2022 will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBelts or a chain from Championship Chains. A winner is determined simply by the individual correctly picking the most victorious fighters at the year’s end. Nate Freeman secured his first victory with MMASucka in 2021 with a compiled record 243-136.
