UFC Vegas 57 Staff Picks

The third and final fight card of the weekend for our MMASucka staff picks is here.

Later tonight, June 25 sees UFC Vegas 57, also titled as UFC on ESPN 38, set to take place from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Six fights make up the night’s main card beginning at 10:00pm ET (7:00pm PT) live on both ESPN+ for subscribers and ESPN for cable viewers.

Results from UFC Vegas 57: Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot will be available here at MMASucka.

Also, make sure to recap our staff picks from Friday’s PFL 5 2022 and Bellator 282.

The Fights

Lightweights Arman Tsarukyan and Mateusz Gamrot may be newer faces to the UFC, but it has not taken long for their presence to be known. The two rising stars are set for their first promotional main events having only ten prior combined octagon fights to their resume.

Tsarukyan will make his second appearance of the year, lastly stopping that of Joel Alvarez in late February. A win would be his sixth in-a-row since his lone UFC defeat to current top-five contender Islam Makhachev. Former KSW featherweight and lightweight champion Gamrot lost his first professional fight in his October of 2020 UFC debut to Guram Kutateladze. The Polish talent has many accolades across various forms of martial arts searching tonight for a fourth-straight stoppage win.

In the featured co-main event, Neil Magny will take on Shavkat Rakhmonov at 170 pounds. Magny looks to back up a March split decision win over Max Griffin in his 27th promotional fight. Former M-1 welterweight champion Rakhmonov hopes to remain undefeated having a 100% finishing rate over all of his 15 victories (8 via KO/TKO, 7 via SUB).

Staff Picks

Staff picks in 2022 will follow the same set of rules from the 2021 season. Throughout the calendar year, staff picks will be composed of main card fights from both UFC and Bellator events. Main card fights and selected preliminary fights will be included for PFL MMA. Dana White’s Contender Series will be composed of the entire fight card; dates for this promotion’s return are soon-to-be announced.

The WINNER of staff picks in 2022 will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBelts or a chain from Championship Chains. A winner is determined simply by the individual correctly picking the most victorious fighters at the year’s end. Nate Freeman secured his first victory with MMASucka in 2021 with a compiled record 243-136.
