Yoshihiro “Sexyama” Akiyama and the BTS Army have come together. The South Korean-Japanese star was able to meet up with BTS megastar Jungkook and get some training in recently.
The meeting began with an Instagram post showing the BTS member hitting mitts. Upon seeing the post, the ONE Championship star reached out and sent an invite for him to train alongside the martial arts legend.
Although apprehensive at first, with Akiyama citing Jungkook joked that he would die, he eventually accepted the invitation.

“Sexyama” shared a short clip of the training session on his Instagram. The two are seen in full protective gear, circling one another, before hugging in the center when the timer beeps at the end of the session.
The BTS Army flooded the comments with messages of support for their beloved member.
Could mixed martial arts see another boost with the BTS bump?
The country has already seen unprecedented success in the past year on the global stage, including Ok Rae Yoon’s crowning moment when he defeated Christian Lee for the ONE Lightweight World Championship.
And ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong has made it known that Seoul is on the list of cities for ONE to visit.
“Yeah, I love Korea that we have a Korean champion in Ok Rae Yoon. Yeah, so I think that’s a very big possibility. Some of the cities we’d like to go back this year are Bangkok, Manila, Tokyo, you know to name a few, Seoul, so those are a few we have our eyes on,” said Sityodtong, following ONE X.
If Akiyama can bring along BTS to a future event, South Korea’s mixed martial arts landscape could become even hotter with ONE leading the charge.
