London’s own, Nathaniel Wood made a triumphant return to the Octagon at UFC London. Boston’s own, Charles Rosa was battered for 15 minutes in as dominant a decision as you will see. The judges scored the contest 30-26, 20-26 and 30-27 with the Brit getting his hand raised. Making his featherweight debut after two years out, Wood made up for missing out on March’s blockbuster London card.

The Fight Itself
Wood was simply too fast for Rosa from the opening bell. The Londoner out-landed Rosa 102-54 on his way to victory.
The first round saw him brutalise the leg of the American, who had little answer for the work that Wood was putting in. There was a strong D’Arce attempt by Rosa, who almost pulled off a huge upset victory, however, Wood managed to fight out of it at the very end of the round.
The second round saw Wood drop Rosa multiple times with leg kicks, although none were officially registered as knockouts. The outside trip of Wood couldn’t miss, grounding Rosa numerous times and forcing him back to his feet. Trading elbows throughout from the clinch, the two put on a phenomenal scrap for the full 15 minutes.
The third round was much the same as the second, with the low calf kick of London’s Wood constantly landing and doing a lot of damage. A total of 31 leg kicks were landed by Wood, the majority of which appeared to land in the same spot, leading to huge damage for Rosa. Wood dominated wherever the fight went and despite a takedown in the last 10 seconds, Rosa had little success for the final 10 minutes other than the odd winging right hand.
It’s safe to say, featherweight Nathaniel Wood is a huge problem.
