The return of Eddie Alvarez to the ONE Championship Circle seems near.

On Wednesday, the multiple-time lightweight World Champion joined other athletes for the ONE and Amazon Prime Video press conference in Los Angeles ahead of the first event, ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II, on August 26.

“The Underground King” was quick to tell those in attendance at The Novo that he was in town to get to work on his return to action.

“That’s why I’m in L.A. We’re gonna figure this out while I’m here,” said Alvarez.

And fans should expect the same old Eddie Alvarez when he does step back inside the Circle.

The Philadelphia native made sure to state that the same goals that drove him to the mountaintop remain the same. He wants to bring the action in every matchup and thrill audiences around the globe.

“The goal is always the same. You go out there and put on exciting fights. You know, when I entered this sport, I never really had a plan. I think plans are for schemers,” explained Alvarez.

“So I think I just go about each fight one at a time and try to put on the best show I can. The plan never changes.”

And Alvarez has continually put on a show for the fans regardless of the outcome. His last appearance, at ONE on TNT IV, was a three-round battle with now ONE Lightweight World Champion, Ok Rae Yoon.

When Alvarez returns, he may not be far from a shot at the gold. His consistently exciting performances put him under the spotlight, and his legacy makes him a thrilling opponent for any top lightweight seeking a signature victory.

2022 will receive another boost when “The Underground King” returns.
