All 7 matchups for Professional Shooto 2022 Vol. 6 has been announced. The event will take place on September 19 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. 

Shooto Strawweight Title Fight: Junji Sarumaru vs. Jo Arai

Junji Sarumaru won the interim belt by submitting  Ryohei Kurosawa with a rear-naked choke at Professional Shooto 2021 Vol.7. He was awarded the undisputed title on August 1st after Hiroshi Minowa vacated it. 

Now he will defend it against Jo Arai, who currently enjoys a six-fight winning streak and will challenge for a championship belt for the first time in his career. 

Arai said:

“I feel like I’ve finally come this far. Sarumaru, who has challenged Shooto’s belt five times and finally won it. After nine consecutive losses, I’m finally trying for that belt. I want you to see which one has the guts and which one won’t give up until the end.”

Yuto Sekiguchi vs. Takeru Uchida

Takeru Uchida took part in a “ROAD TO UFC” series held in Singapore. In a non-tournament matchup, he submitted Sean Echel with a Rear-naked choke in the first round. It was his fifth consecutive win. 

Yuto Sekiguchi  is on a four-fight winning streak, but he lost his most recent kickboxing bout to Kazuhiro Matsuyama at Shooto 2022 Vol. 4 in Osaka. 

Takeharu Goto vs. Kenji Kato

Goto will make his return after a year and a half long hiatus caused by an injury. Prior to that he lost to Keita Ishibashi at Shooto 2021 Vol 6.  In his return fight, he defeated Daiki Tsubota at Shooto 2022 Vol. 2 back in march.  

Tsubasa Saito vs. Nobumitsu Osawa

Back in April Nobumitsu Osawa took part in the initial ‘POUND STORM’ event and beat Hide Usami. He’s most known for his losing effort against Tofiq Musaev at RIZIN 14 He will take on Tsubasa Saito, who comes out of the loss to Nobuki Fuji at Shooto 2022 Vol. 3 

Infinity League 2022 matchups

Two matches featured in “Infinity League 2022” will take place. The competition’s goal is to crown the initial women’s atom weight champion. Chiy Sawada has 5 points and leads in the standings. On this fight card Kuon will take on Yuki Oi and Tsubaki Asuka will square off against Keiichiro Kudo.
