Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II Results

A rematch nearly a year in the making makes the move from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia. The stadium is expected to hold over 35,000 fans and both men are up for the task. Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk will be defending the three title belts he won last September. The man he won them from will be across from him in Anthony Joshua.

Joshua has shown an affinity to handle rematches well. After his loss to Andy Ruiz, he bounced back with a masterful performance. He was clean, clinical, and showed everyone why he is in the discussion for the best heavyweight in the world. Now he looks for revenge against Usyk with a new trainer in Robert Garcia who has taken on several redemption stories in his career.

As for the champion, Usyk has the same camp and the same skills, but this time has the weight of a country on his back. He has not shied away from the topic with shirts displaying messages and keeping things in a traditional way from his native country. He has already fought the toughest battle one could face, now he faces the former world champion for the second time within a year.

Not to be forgotten on the card is Callum Smith versus Mathieu Bauderlique in a title eliminator bout. In the co-main event though is a number one contender bout of sorts between Filip Hrgovic and Zhang Zhilei as they square off for the right to be the number one contender by the IBF for their belt. Both men have a combined record of 38-0-1 with 31 knockouts combined between them so needless to say the world should be in for an entertaining warm-up to the main event.
