ONE 160: Ok vs. Lee II will kickstart ONE Championship’s historic day on Friday. The first of two events will lead into the organization’s debut on Amazon Prime Video.
And the standout card that will set the tone will feature Christian Lee’s quest for redemption against ONE Lightweight World Champion Ok Rae Yoon in the main event.
The United MMA star dropped a close decision to the South Korean at ONE: Revolution, but he still feels the wrong name was read on the scorecards.
Christian Lee “can’t wait” to Recapture Title with Win Over Ok Rae Yoon at ONE 160
“I won based on the ONE Championship scoring criteria. And, I know myself that I won that night; I believe that Ok Rae Yoon knows that he lost that night. So I’m sure there’s going to be a lot of people, you know, saying I didn’t handle it well, but when it comes down to it, fighting is my career,” said Lee.
“This is how I provide for my family. So it’s not something I take lightly. And a bad decision by the judges is just a decision for them, but it very greatly impacts my life as a fighter.”
“I have no hard feelings against Ok Rae Yoon. At the end of the day, he didn’t make the decision. He was in there fighting as hard as he could fight. And, you know, that night, he was just lucky with how the fight was judged.”
Lee is confident that he can right what he feels was a wrong decision with a finish on Friday.
The former lightweight king feels that way in large part due to nearly getting the finish against Ok in their first meeting. With a full training camp under his belt, he sees no reason why he cannot close the show in an emphatic manner.
Although he predicts a knockout, Lee is preparing himself for every scenario.
“I’ve been working extremely hard for this fight, and everything’s going according to plan. I’m getting all the correct training that I need in preparation for this match. And I’m really excited. I can’t wait for the night of the fight,” said Lee.
A return to the Singapore Indoor Stadium will put Lee back in familiar territory.
He has spent many of his professional bouts inside the Circle under its roof and feels the comfort of the stadium will allow him to peak at the right time and deliver a memorable performance in front of the Singaporean audience.
“Singapore is the place where I won the lightweight title. And Singapore is going to be the place where I take the belt back once again, and I couldn’t be more excited,” said Lee.
“It’s always great fighting in Singapore; the crowd is always great. The fans always show up, ready for the fights. And I’m really excited to reclaim the belt back once again in Singapore.”
ONE 160: Ok vs. Lee II will air live and free on watch.onefc.com at 7:30 a.m. ET/4:30 a.m. PT on Friday, August 26.
