MMASucka staff picks carry on as ten fighters look for a promotional contract with the UFC.

Later tonight, August 23rd, sees Dana White’s Contender Series 51 set for action from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada for the fifth event of ten total this calendar year in the promotion’s sixth season. The fights will begin live at 8:00pm ET (5:00pm PT) live on ESPN+.

Results from Dana White’s Contender Series 51 will be available here at MMASucka.

Be sure to recap our staff picks from the weekend’s PFL 9 2022 playoffs event from London and UFC 278 from Salt Lake City.

The Fights

Heavyweight undefeated hopefuls Eduardo Neves and Michael Parkin will square off in the featured three-round main event. Five straight knockouts including three in the first round and two, most recently, under the LFA banner have propelled 22-year-old Neves to his shot at joining the world’s largest mixed martial arts promotion. The United Kingdom’s Parkin out of TFT MMA has finished all thirteen of his professional and amateur opponents by knockout with twelve in the very first round.

In the co-main event, recent GFC title winner Amiran Gogoladze takes on striking talent Darrius Flowers at 170 pounds with both opponents looking for a fourth straight win to add to their resume.

Three additional fights will take place at Dana White’s Contender Series 51 including youthful EFC bantamweight champion Cameron Saaiman and 2021 Contender Series winner Erisson Ferreira. See our staff picks for the entire event further below.

Staff Picks

Staff picks in 2022 will follow the same set of rules from the 2021 season. Throughout the calendar year, staff picks will be composed of main card fights from both UFC and Bellator events. Main card fights and selected preliminary fights will be included for PFL MMA. Dana White’s Contender Series will be composed of the entire fight card.

The WINNER of staff picks in 2022 will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBelts or a chain from Championship Chains. A winner is determined simply by the individual correctly picking the most victorious fighters at the year’s end. Nate Freeman secured his first victory with MMASucka in 2021 with a compiled record 243-136.
