With the Prime Video era in full swing, ONE Championship has released several matchups for its next two events in September.
ONE Announces ONE 161, ONE on Prime Video 2
On Thursday, September 29, ONE 161: Petchmorakot vs. Tawanchai will start off the festivities. The company announced six bouts for the event, but more are expected at a later date.
In the lead spot, ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee will try to keep an iron fist around the title belt as he braces for the challenge of Tawanchai PK. Saenchai.
A centerpiece of the event will be the ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix. Iraj Azizpour battles Bruno Chaves in the first bout, and ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion Roman Kryklia takes on Guto Inocente in the following contest.
Zhang Lipeng and #5-ranked lightweight contender Saygid Izagakhmaev will throw down in the center of the Circle with the hopes of making a bid toward title contendership.
Speaking of contenders, #3-ranked flyweight contender Yuya Wakamatsu returns to defend his spot against Wang Shuo. Meanwhile, atomweights Ritu Phogat and Tiffany Teo will battle it out in the hopes of breaking through into the top five of their division.
The very next day, Friday, September 30, ONE returns to Prime Video for ONE on Prime Video 2: Xiong vs. Lee III.
ONE Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee will move back up to strawweight for her second attempt at dual-gold when she tries to take the third match against ONE Strawweight World Champion Xiong Jing Nan.
In the co-main event, ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon Singha Mawynn welcomes Chingiz Allazov to the Circle. Allazov earned his crack at the gold by winning the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix at ONE X.
A second trilogy bout will take place for gold when Mikey Musumeci and Cleber Sousa hit the canvas for the inaugural ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Championship. The two BJJ wizards are currently 1-1 against each other, but the tiebreaker will be the biggest match as ONE elevates the sport into U.S. primetime.
In the three additional bouts on the card, Stamp Fairtex meets Jihin Radzuan in an atomweight contest, Martin Nguyen tries to reenter the discussion for the featherweight crown against Ilya Freymanov, and lightweights Halil Amir and Timofey Nastyukhin throw down in a lightweight battle.
