The show’s announcement came as part of the company’s commitment to growing the sport in the region.

“From all over the Philippines, 16 MMA athletes begin their journey to one destination. Each one has a story, and every single one of them share the same dream. Who will walk away in triumph? Who will walk away in defeat? Who will get the $100,000 contract with the biggest sports platform in Asia, ONE Championship,” said ONE Warrior Series: Philippines Host Will Devaughn in the show’s trailer.

The series will be 12 weekly episodes with Team Lakay stars and coaches teaching the prospects along the way. The eventual winner of the show will then join the gym and represent Team Lakay during their ONE tenure.

Team Lakay has been at the forefront of Filipino MMA. It has produced five ONE World Champions, including current ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua Pacio. The contestants will be receiving top-flight training from the world-class staff of the gym as they compete for the six-figure contract.

ONE Warrior Series: Philippines will help cultivate the next wave of talent set to represent the nation and continue to inspire the growth of mixed martial arts in the region. The next star will be given the platform to showcase their skills, join the nation’s top team, and jump onto the global stage of ONE following their victory on the show.

ONE Warrior Series: Philippines will air live weekly on watch.onefc.com on Sunday, September 18, at 9:35 a.m. EST/6:35 a.m. PST.
