MMASucka’s UFC Vegas 60 Staff Picks

A stacked night of fights is in store for our MMASucka staff picks.

UFC Vegas 60, also titled as UFC Fight Night 210, will begin in just a few short hours this evening, September 17th from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Six pairings will lead the main card beginning at 7:00pm ET (4:00pm PT) live on ESPN+ for subscribers.

Live results from the entire UFC Vegas 60: Sandhagen vs. Song event will be available here at MMASucka.

Also, stay tuned to MMASucka this upcoming Tuesday the 20th for our staff picks from Dana White’s Contender Series 55.

The Fights

Top-ranked bantamweight (135 pounds) fighters Cory Sandhagen and Song Yadong are set for a possible five rounds in tonight’s featured main event.

Sandhagen will be making his eleventh octagon walk since his promotional debut in January of 2018, having stayed a dangerous throughout in his run towards the peak of the division. The Aurora, Colorado native stays ready for victory having dropped two-straight main event appearances in-a-row; most recently, an interim title defeat to former divisional champion Petr Yan. Sandhagen’s opponent, Yadong, represents Team Alpha Male as arguably their leading talent with ten wins in his last twelve professional fights. A victory tonight from the 24-year-old would be his fourth straight since August of 2021 and a likely ticket towards his first UFC championship opportunity.

In the co-main event, finishers Chidi Njokuani and Gregory Rodrigues will square off in the middleweight division (185 pounds). Njokuani, the younger brother of former WEC and UFC fighter Anthony Njokuani, targets a fifth straight knockout and his second in the promotion after signing last year following his Contender Series victory over Mario Sousa. Former LFA middleweight champion Rodrigues looks to make quick work again after his “Performance of the Night” knockout of Julian Marquez in June.

Three additional fights make up the main card including 2022 Contender Series contract winner Joseph Pyfer and former LFA middleweight champion Anthony Hernandez. Find our UFC Vegas 60 staff picks further below.

Staff Picks

Staff picks in 2022 will follow the same set of rules from the 2021 season. Throughout the calendar year, staff picks will be composed of main card fights from both UFC and Bellator events. Main card fights and selected preliminary fights will be included for PFL MMA. Dana White’s Contender Series will be composed of the entire fight card.

The WINNER of staff picks in 2022 will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBelts or a chain from Championship Chains. A winner is determined simply by the individual correctly picking the most victorious fighters at the year’s end. Nate Freeman secured his first victory with MMASucka in 2021 with a compiled record 243-136.
