MMASucka’s UFC Vegas 64 Staff Picks

Two months remain in the calendar year as MMASucka staff picks nears its season’s end.

UFC Vegas 64, also titled as UFC Fight Night 214, will take place tonight, November 5th from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Five fights compose the main card beginning at 7:00pm ET (4:00pm PT) live on ESPN+ for subscribers.

Live results from UFC Vegas 64: Rodriguez vs. Lemos will be available here at MMASucka.

The Fights

Top ten ranked strawweights Marina Rodriguez and Amanda Lemos will fight in the night’s featured five-round main event. The two 35-year-old Brazilians look for more momentum as a title shot could be near for the challenger whose hand is raised.

Rodriguez will be making her tenth octagon appearance in what will be her third headlining slot after securing a promotional contract through Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil in August of 2018. Four straight victories including a March split decision over Yan Xiaonan have gone in her favor since her lone professional defeat to Carla Esparza in mid-2020. Rodriguez’s opponent, Lemos, looks to back up her most recent second-round submission over former Invicta FC atomweight champion Michelle Waterson. Since dropping to the weight class for her second tenured bout, Lemos has gone an impressive 6-1 having only one defeat to Jessica Andrade in April.

In the co-main event, Neil Magny will face Daniel Rodriguez in the welterweight division. Veteran talent Magny looks to rebound after his June defeat to undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov as a possible win would move him to first all-time in UFC welterweight history with most wins in the division over Georges St-Pierre (19). Syndicate MMA’s Rodriguez gets his first fight as a ranked in the division after his back-and-forth September victory over Li Jingliang adding a fourth win to his current streak since April of 2021.

Grant Dawson missed the lightweight limit by one and-a-half pounds for his bout with Mark Madsen. The fight will continue at a catchweight of 157.5 pounds with a portion of Dawson’s purse going to Madsen as the two are set to open the main card.

Staff Picks

Staff picks in 2022 will follow the same set of rules from the 2021 season. Throughout the calendar year, staff picks will be composed of main card fights from both UFC and Bellator events. Main card fights and selected preliminary fights will be included for PFL MMA. Dana White’s Contender Series are composed of the entire fight card.

The WINNER of staff picks in 2022 will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBelts or a chain from Championship Chains. A winner is determined simply by the individual correctly picking the most victorious fighters at the year’s end. Nate Freeman secured his first victory with MMASucka in 2021 with a compiled record 243-136.
