The main draw of the night will be middleweight fight between two very high-level middleweights trying to prove they belong in a major promotion. Jared Gooden (21-8) is one of the top middleweights on the regional scene and has already been had a little bit of a UFC career going just 1-3 in his 4 fights with the promotion. Since then, he’s won 3 out of his last 4 fights and is looking to grab another one tonight as he tries to make it back to the big show. His opponent may not have made it to the UFC just yet, but he does have a bit of a reputation in his home country of Brazil. Adriano Rodrigues (18-6-1) has had quite an impressive career so far finishes 15 of his 18 pro wins so far. Now fighting in the United States, Rodrigues will look to make the most of his stay and pick up the most impressive win in his career.
The penultimate bout is a classic matchup in the lightweight division between a rising prospect and wily veteran. Christian Lohsen (9-2) has been submitting lightweights all around the regional scene with his aggressive grappling game. The 27-year-old already has 5 first round submission victories and the last won came from a rare banana split submission. Nathan Williams (14-9) is also an impressive grappler with 4 first round submissions on his resume. The Atlanta native is also coming off a win just two months ago where he won his fight by unanimous decision. With 23 pro fights and a win over UFC fighter Don Shainis, Williams is ready to pull off an upset and give Christian Lohsen the toughest fight of his young career.
There are plenty of fighters to look out for throughout the night including an interesting rematch between Micah Miller (20-9) and Stephen Siler (33-24-1). Siler won his spot on TUF 14 after submitting Miller in an exhibition match. Micah’s brother, Cole Miller was in the UFC at the time and Siler was counted out by almost everyone when they heard he was matched up with Miller’s younger brother. 11 years later, they square off again with plenty more fight experience under their belt this time around. Shimon Smotritsky (8-2) looks to bounce back after a rough performance on his most recent appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series. There’s also the very anticipated debut of former Penn State wrestler Anthony Cassar (Debut) as he takes his first pro fight since transitioning to MMA full time.
MMA Sucka will have live coverage on iKON FC 6 as it airs live on UFC Fight Pass at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
Tonight’s main event between Jared Gooden and Adriano Rodrigues was canceled due to Rodrigues pulling out of the fight for undisclosed reasons.
