UFC Rankings Changes 27/02

After a fight night that saw a main event pull out last minute, a middleweight upset and a return of a potential title challenger, there have been a number of movers and shakers in the UFC rankings. After two confirmed retirements, there have been plenty of rankings changes, so let’s jump straight into it.

Women’s Divisions

After confirmation that Lina Lansberg is hanging up the gloves at bantamweight, she’s been removed from the rankings. Chelsea Chandler debuts at #15, Josiane Nunes moves up a spot to #14 and Ketlen Vieira rises a spot to (joint) #3.

The flyweight rankings took a big turn last week, however, this week there has only been one key change. Manon Fiorot is now #1 with Talia Santos dropping to #2.

The strawweight rankings are where there has been a lot of movement. Off the back of her impressive victory this weekend, Tatiana Suarez returns to the 115lbs rankings at #13, overtaking Emily Ducote and Luana Pinheiro and knocking Polyana Viana out of the top 15. Depsite losing her last fight, Jessica Andrade rises two places to #4 with Marina Rodriguez and Xiaonan Yan dropping a place each.

Men’s Divisions

In the lower weight classes, there haven’t been any changes. Up to welterweight, no one has changed spots. At welterweight, Shavkat Rakhmonov rises one place to #9 and Michael Chiesa, despite not having a win since January 2021 and suffering back-to-back losses has risen to #12. At the time of writing, the 170lbs division has no #10 or #13 ranked fighter but has two #9’s and two #12’s.

The middleweight division has had a big shake-up. Following Brendan Allen‘s big win in the UFC Vegas 70 main event, he is newly ranked at #12. his opponent, Andre Muniz drops two places to #11. Nassourdine Imavov gains one place and is now ranked #11 and Kelvin Gastelum slips two places to be ranked #15. Interestingly, Darren Till has dropped out of the rankings all together.

At 205lbs, Volkan Oezdemir slips to number nine and Dustin Jacoby rises one place to #13.
