The long-awaited flyweight meeting between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmoo9 will have to wait a little longer. ONE Championship announced Rodtang was forced to withdraw from the ONE Fight Night 8 main event due to an undisclosed injury on Wednesday. But Superlek will defend the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title against a hungry challenger.

Danial Williams will take Rodtang’s spot and get his first chance at ONE gold. The Thai-Australian star was initially scheduled for a Muay Thai bout against Rui Botelho but will find himself in the main event instead. Known as one of the most exciting athletes on the planet, Williams gets an unexpected opportunity to begin his quest for three-sport gold.

Superlek will try to keep his collision course with Rodtang on the tracks in his first title defense. The Thai athlete won the title in January over Daniel Puertas. However, the win did not come without its troubles.

Puertas came with aggression and made Superlek work. That is a style that plays into the strengths of “Mini T” and makes the new ONE Fight Night 8 an intriguing clash of styles. Although it will be a five-round affair, Williams will be more than prepared to go all-out against Superlek.

Botelho will also remain on the card. Aslanbek Zikreev will step in for Williams and square off against Botelho in a 128-pound catchweight contest. The event will go on with ten bouts and be capped off by two incredible title tilts.

ONE Fight Night 8 emanates from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday, March 24. The action begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Prime Video. The event is free for all Amazon Prime members based in the U.S. and Canada.
