The women of ONE Championship will not be left out of the spotlight at ONE Fight Night 10. The big U.S. debut for the promotion will feature two action-packed bouts for top women in martial arts on Prime Video. The biggest of those will come when #1-ranked atomweight contender Stamp Fairtex meets Alyse Anderson.

Stamp Fairtex: “Every opponent has tried to put me on the ground.”

After Ham Seo Hee’s victory, the bout took on new meaning. After the event, ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong told the South China Morning Post that the South Korean would get an interim title shot, perhaps against Stamp or another top contender. That adds more pressure for this important collision.

The matchup itself will be a classic striker vs. grappling battle, or at least that is how it looks on paper. Stamp does not disagree with that assessment. She knows no matter who she faces, the focus will be on nullifying her elite striking game.

“Of course, I’m good at the stand-up part of the game. Every opponent has tried to put me on the ground. They always tried to take me down. My strength is my stand-up game. This is what I will bring to the fight,” Stamp told ONE.

Confidence is not something Stamp lacks. She has been able to showcase her improved grappling many times against top grapplers. There is no intimidation coming from the former two-sport queen against her American foe.

“I am more skilled than [Anderson] in terms of Muay Thai and kickboxing. And in the ground game, maybe I am inferior, but I think I will have the advantage and will come out on top in our striking exchanges,” said the Thai superstar.

Anderson has shown good all-around skills in her career to date. The Michigan resident has also displayed surprising power in her stand-up, but it is nothing concerning Stamp. The Fairtex Gym representative is dialing in on stuffing her takedown attempts and turning this into a Muay Thai affair.

“For my preparations, I have to defend [Anderson’s] takedowns and show my Muay Thai skills when I create the opportunity to strike,” said Stamp.

Ahead of ONE’s U.S. debut, Stamp has been training alongside an old opponent. She has enlisted Jihin Radzuan to improve upon her ground game. Stamp feels good about where her grappling defense is heading into May 5th and plans to take another step toward capturing a title in a third sport.

“It’s great to have Jihin helping because Jihin’s ground game is quite good. Training with her, she’s always nice, smiling, and helping me on technical aspects.”

ONE Fight Night 10 airs live from the 1stBank Center on Friday, May 5. The action begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Prime Video. The event is free for all Amazon Prime subscribers based in the U.S. and Canada.
