Along with the event date, the promotion also teased a number of potential fights that have been lined up.
The first video is of the Battlefield Fight League welterweight champion Dejan Kajic, who will put his title on the line. The opponent has yet to be named, however, at BFL 76, Rodrigo Sezinando put on a show against a former foe and training partner of Kajic, Saeid Mirzaei. Following that fight, Kajic told MMASucka.com that he would like to face Sezinando, so this could be the case.
BFL bantamweight champion Serhiy Sidey will look to stamp his ticket to the big show with a title defense.
Also at BFL 76, Xavier Nash shocked the local fans when he defeated Navid Zanganeh to earn the lightweight championship. Former BFL 155-pound champion, Achilles Estremadura, vacated the title when he competed at Dana White’s Contender Series and will return to face off against the current kingpin.
Jamie Siraj will look to make a return to the cage on June 9. Over the course of the past three years, ‘The Gremlin’ was fighting in the biggest fight of his career — his health. Titles and other accolades aren’t what he’s after at this point, making it to the UFC and proving he is the best featherweight in Canada is.
Other fighters that will possibly be stepping inside the cage at BFL 76 are Maxime Soucy, Navid Zanganeh, Josh Kwiatkowski, Mitch Strazzella and Arthur Dufloo.
UFC 289 goes down on June 10 from Rogers Arena in downtown Vancouver. The main event will be for the women’s bantamweight championship as Amanda Nunes takes on Julianna Pena.
