MMA Sucka will have live coverage of Cage Warriors 159: San Diego. Starting with the preliminary card 9:30pm ET/6:30pm PT on UFC Fight Pass. Followed by the main card at 11pm ET/8pm PT also on UFC Fight Pass.
Reis has been flawless since returning to Cage Warriors back in 2022, riding a 3 fight win streak and securing his 8th career rear naked choke against a tough regional veteran in Johnny Campbell. Still utilizing his heavy pressure and relentless grappling that’s served him well throughout his 16 year career, Reis was able to tire Campbell out and find the finish to extend his winning streak. With a stellar 4-0 record with the promotion we could very well see a title shot now that Caolán Loughran has vacated the belt after signing with the UFC. Even at 38 years of age, Reis has proven to be a problem in Cage Warriors that nobody has been able to solve.
Trevin Jones might have the answer coming back for his first fight since his stint with the UFC. After losing to former UFC champion Cody Garbrandt, Jones found himself out of his contract showing just how difficult and unforgiving the UFC’s bantamweight division truly is. Facing the likes Javid Basharat, Mario Bautista, and Raoni Barcelos, every fight Jones had was against a formidable opponent. With a perfect opportunity to bounce back against one of the best bantamweights in regional scene, Jones is ready to start the run that’ll lead to second chance with the UFC.
Cage Warriors’ San Diego staple, Roberto Hernandez (7-1) returns for another featherweight scrap against Dana White’s Contender Series alum Toby Misech(12-7) in tonight’s co-main event. Hernandez has looked very impressive as of late defeating every opponent the promotion has given him in their last 5 shows in California. Misech on the other hand is returning to MMA after his bare-knuckle fight late last year. The hard hitting Hawaiian is looking to end the run Hernandez has been on with another vicious finish.
The very experienced John De Jesus (16-11) welcomes Elijah Leggett (5-1) back to Cage Warriors for a featherweight bout. His FactoryX teammate Brian Mitchell (5-2) will also be fighting a bit earlier on tonight’s preliminary card. The prelims will also include exciting prospects Terrance Saeteurn (3-1) and David Lòpez (3-1) as they square off in the flyweight division for a classic matchup between NorCal and SoCal.
