Prochazka returns after what will be an 11-month layoff after suffering a serious shoulder injury in December. The Czech Republic fighter originally won the light heavyweight title from Glover Texeira at UFC 275 in a fight of the year contender last year. A rematch between the two was supposed to take place but after suffering his injury those plans were scrapped and the division went off the rails from there.
As for Pereira, he looks to bounce back after losing his UFC Middleweight Championship to Israel Adesanya in April at UFC 287. While Prochazka lost his belt outside of the Octagon, Pereira suffered a knockout loss in his fourth combat sports bout against Adesanya.
The bout will serve as the co-main event to Jon Jones defending his UFC Heavyweight Championship against the former champion Stipe Miocic.
