The Fights

In the featured main event, Thanh Le and Ilya Freymanov will fight for the interim ONE Featherweight Championship. The winner will be next in line to take on current divisional champion Tang Kai who has been sidelined since May with a knee injury.

Returning to the cage for the first time in nearly 14 months sees Le who lost the featherweight title to Kai at ONE 160 in August of last year. The loss snapped a five-fight win streak with stoppages all by way of knockout including over notables Martin Nguyen and Garry Tonon as the former LFA Featherweight Champion aims to return to the peak at 155 pounds. Le’s opponent, Freymanov, hopes to make his third promotional appearance the most impressive in his first title opportunity following first-round stoppages over the aforementioned Nguyen and Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg. Five victories have come since his second career loss in March of 2021 as the talented striker looks to better Le in the standup department.

Meeting in the strawweight division sees a pairing between Joshua Pacio and Mansur Malachiev. Two-time divisional champion Pacio lost the title in his December of last year outing versus Jarred Brooks. Dagestani wrestler Malachiev has won all eleven of his mixed martial arts fights including his first-round D’arce choke over Jeremy Miado in his June ONE debut.

Making his return after a year-plus layoff sees Timofey Nastyukhin planning to avoid four consecutive defeats as he battles former two-divisional Kunlun Fight Champion and The Ultimate Fighter: China tournament victory Zhang Lipeng at lightweight.

Although not counted towards our picks, undefeated Jonathan Di Bella looks to defend his ONE Strawweight Kickboxing title against former flyweight title challenger Danial Williams.

Two additional MMA fights compose the event ahead. Who have the MMASucka staff picked and predicted to win at ONE Fight Night 15?

2023 Staff Picks

MMASucka staff picks are composed of five promotions: the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Bellator MMA, ONE Championship, the Professional Fighters League (PFL), and Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS). UFC and Bellator events feature picks from only main cards. PFL will feature select fights from the main and/or preliminary card while DWCS sees all fights counted from the event. ONE Championship returns to picks for the first time since 2020 and will feature only mixed martial arts (MMA) fights selected from cards with a minimum three matchups.

The WINNER of staff picks at the end of 2023, who picked the most victorious fighters, will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBeltsΒ or a chain fromΒ Championship Chains. Staff picks in 2022 was won by Wesley Riddle with a record of 264-135.
