Brian Shaw has recently announced that he will be making the switch to MMA after calling an end to his illustrious strongman career after been crowned “The Strongest Man on Earth” in his last ever contest.

World’s Strongest Man Enters New World of Competition

A four time winner of the World’s Strongest Man competition, Shaw is widely considered to be one of the greatest strongmen of all time, rarely missing a podium finish in any competition he has entered over the last 15 years.

Now at the age of 41, Shaw has hung up his weight lifting gloves and has traded them for a pair of 4oz gloves. In a statement released to his YouTube Channel, Shaw stated that he had been a longtime fan of MMA yet the weight limit of 265 lbs. for the heavyweight division had resigned him to never competing in the sport.

Standing at six foot eight, and weighing well over 400 pounds, Shaw is certainly a physical specimen unlike any we would have ever seen before stepping into the Octagon. Beginning his training camp in his home state of Colorado, Shaw stated that a contract had been offered by an unnamed organization to compete in an open weight class sometime in 2024.

Rules and details regarding the bout, opponent and drug testing are still unclear and will likely be revealed at a later date. For now, fans get a chance to theorize and speculate and who could possibly enter into a match up against a modern day Behemoth such as Shaw.
