December 8th will see Muay Thai takeover U.S. primetime. ONE Championship will bring an all-Muay Thai event to Prime Video next month, first reported by Justin Barrosso of Sports IllustratedONE Fight Night 17 will be capped off by crowning the company’s first-ever ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai World Champion.

ONE Announces Muay Thai Spectacle for ONE Fight Night 17

ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion and ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Champion Roman Kryklia will go for two-sport gold in the main event. Standing opposite the towering Ukrainian will be Alex Roberts. The title tilt has ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong beaming with excitement.

“ONE Championship allows our athletes to become multi-sport world champions simultaneously. Roman is the best heavyweight kickboxer on the planet today, and now he’s stepping into an entirely different rule set. That’s the beauty of our platform, and it’s also a testament to his greatness,” Sityodtong told Sports Illustrated.

The event will be full of standout strikers looking to make their mark on the U.S. audience. One of the top athletes to watch will be teenage sensation Johan Ghazali. The American has shined on ONE Friday Fights in 2023 and has earned his shot on the big stage against Edgar Tabares.

Also in action, “Smokin” Jo Nattawut takes on American Luke Lessei. Nattawut is coming off a narrow decision loss in a kickboxing battle against ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai. A sterling victory could edge him closer to a rematch.

“American fans will get to see the world’s greatest strikers on the planet. This will be monster knockouts, elite martial arts, and knockouts that are so good they’ll be addicting. It’s a different caliber of fighter than you’re seeing in the United States. American fans have not been exposed to this level of striking, at least not yet. You’re going to be truly blown away on December 8,” Sityodtong continued.

As four-ounce Muay Thai continues to capture the attention of American audiences, ONE Fight Night 17 will give fans a smorgasbord of “the art of eight limbs.” Nonstop action will emanate from Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. It will be the perfect holiday treat and be much more filling than Thanksgiving leftovers.

ONE Fight Night 17 airs live on Friday, December 8, on Prime Video. The action begins at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST. The event is free for all Amazon Prime subscribers based in the U.S. and Canada.
