Stamp Fairtex vs. Denice Zamboanga has a new date. The Thai star’s first defense of the ONE Atomweight MMA World Championship will happen at ONE 167 on Prime Video. The match will emanate from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, June 7.
The title tilt was initially planned for ONE 166: Qatar. However, the bout was bumped by ONE Championship so the two talented female athletes could participate in an original docuseries production. Officially rebooked, the two warriors will headline the action at ONE 167.
Stamp claimed the undisputed gold following Angela Lee’s retirement last September. The Thai superstar defeated Ham Seo Hee by TKO in the third round of their title match. The history-making performance made her the first-ever three-sport World Champion. Stamp is ready to begin defending the gold to affirm her spot at the top of the mountain.
But Zamboanga is preparing to bring the title back to the Philippines. Following two decision wins over Lin Heqin and Julie Mezabarba, Zamboanga is ready for her first crack at the gold. It will be a main event between two friends and former training partners, who will put that aside for 25 furious minutes.
Also announced for the card will be a rematch between two outstanding strikers. At ONE Fight Night 15, ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai met “Smokin” Jo Nattawut in a kickboxing affair. On June 7, the two will compete under Muay Thai rules.
Tawanchai came out victorious in their kickboxing battle last October. Still, many fans felt like Nattawut got the better of the action. The groundswell forced “Smokin” Jo back into action against Luke Lessei, whom he defeated by unanimous decision. Following the win, the timing was right for the rematch, with gold up for grabs.
ONE 167 is already off to a tremendous start with two top-notch title bouts. More bouts will be announced in the weeks to come. Stay tuned to MMASucka.com for all your ONE 167 on Prime Video updates.
ONE 167 airs live on Prime Video on Friday, June 7. The action gets underway at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The event is free for all Amazon Prime members in the U.S. and Canada.
