The second half of our double-header weekend for MMASucka staff picks is here.
ONE Fight Night 21 will take place for North American viewers tonight, April 5th from the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Those in the United States can watch the event at 8:00pm ET (5:00pm PT) on Amazon Prime Video. See ONE Championship’s website here for how to view the card in your area.
Results from ONE Fight Night 21 will be available here at MMASucka.
Recap our staff picks from Thursday’s PFL 1 2024 event from San Antonio, Texas. Stay tuned tomorrow (Saturday) for our UFC Fight Night 240 picks from Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Fights
Only three mixed martial arts fights will be counted towards our staff picks. A fight between Jinhin Radzuan and Ayaka Miura was intended to be the fourth MMA fight of the night. Last week, however, saw Radzuan forced out due to injury. In turn, Miura was removed from the event.
Heavyweights (265 pounds) of Ben Tynan and Duke Didier will clash in the featured bout of the night. Elevation Fight Team’s Tynan aims to continue his undefeated run in professional fight number six while keeping together his 100% stoppage streak (three KO/TKO, two SUB). Australia’s Didier returns to the cage just over 21 months from his ONE debut that saw a split decision loss to Zhasur Mirzamukhaedov.
At 185 pounds, former interim Pancrase Welterweight Champion Hiroyuki Tetsuka puts his four-fight win streak up to the test against dangerous finisher Valmir Da Silva. The two were supposed to fight in February, but Da Silva was forced out of the fight and replaced with Abraao Amorim.
The last matchup for picks opens the Amazon Prime Video event between Jeremy Pacatiw and Wang Shuo, both of whom make their long-awaited returns to the ONE cage.
Remaining Card
Although not counted towards our records, two Title pairings will take place at the event. Youthful standout Ty Ruotolo will look to defend his Submission Grappling Championship for the first time in the welterweight division against promotional newcomer Izaak Michell. Headlining the night sees ONE Championship’s Lightweight (170 pounds) Kickboxing Title on the line between two-sport Champion Regian Eersel (Muay Thai) and opponent Alexis Nicolas.
