3 Bold UFC Predictions for Summer 2024

Conor McGregor’s Return Ends in Dominant Fashion

The return of the Mac is confirmed for UFC 303 during international fight week and he will meet Michael Chandler in a welterweight showcase. After a prolonged period of time out of the octagon due to injury, Conor McGregor will certainly be rusty, however, if there’s anyone who can come back from as devastating an injury as the Irishman suffered, it’s McGregor himself. He documented the injury during his ‘McGregor Forever’ documentary series, showing just how determined he was to overcome the injury.

Our bold prediction for this fight is that McGregor goes back to his late 2016 form which saw him beat Nate Diaz via decision before putting on a clinic against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. He dominates Chandler before finishing him in the third round of their main event bout. The added weight will play in his favour as will the magnitude of the moment. He knows it’s last chance saloon and he’ll embrace the pressure.

Ian Garry Beats Colby Covington in the UFC 303 Co-Main event before Calling Out Leon Edwards

Although this fight hasn’t been officially announced as of yet, there are heavy rumours that this will be booked. It’s no hidden secret that Ian Garry and Colby Covington have beef and have been going back and forth on social media since Garry’s latest win at UFC 298. It’s also no hidden secret that he’s a big fan of his compatriot, Conor McGregor and wants to compete on the same card as the former two-weight world champion.

Garry vs Covington could easily feature as a five round co-main event on UFC 303. Covington hasn’t looked good in recent times and Garry is on the up. We predict that Garry will defeat Covington via unanimous decision, before taking to the mic and calling for a shot at the welterweight king, Leon Edwards.

Israel Adesanya Lifts Middleweight Gold Again

The UFC is set to touch down in Perth, Australia on August 18th from the RAC Arena. As of yet, we haven’t had any fight announcements made for the card, however, the assumed headliner will be the highly anticipated middleweight clash between the former long time champion, Israel Adesanya and the reigning champion, Dricus Du Plessis.

The Last Stylebender has been out of action since his disappointing, career worse loss to Sean Strickland at UFC 293. Strickland went on to face du Plessis at UFC 297, losing a split decision and handing the belt to the South African native.

Both Adesanya and du Plessis have a bitter rivalry surrounding their African heritage with the champion questioning Adesanya’s legitimacy. The bold prediction here is that the two men will clash in the main event, with Adesanya winning via decision. He’s going to enter the bout with a newfound determination, be back to his slick, vicious best and easily counter the aggressive du Plessis across 25 minutes, consequently lifting UFC gold and becoming a three time middleweight champion.
