ONE Championship is gearing up for another featherweight kickboxing showcase. The organization unveiled on social media that the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix will return in 2024. No official announcement was made when the first event would be held.

The social media graphic teased four potential entrants. The picture featured Masaaki Noiri, Superbon, Giorgio Petrosyan, and Marat Grigorian. No official statement has been made on who will compete in the tournament.

ONE Announces Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix

The first ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix took place in 2019. Giorgio Petrosyan dominated the field with wins over Petchmorakot Petchyindee, Jo Nattawut, and Samy Sana. It was another feather in the cap of arguably the greatest kickboxer in history.

The tournament returned in 2021. Chingiz Allazov would stun Samy Sana and Jo Nattawut by knockout to leap to the forefront of the division. In the final round, Allazov got a unanimous decision win over Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong to claim the tournament crown.

The past two winners of the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix have ascended to the top of the pound-for-pound ranking list in kickboxing. Will it be the same for the winner of the 2024 edition? It would stand to reason with the potential for the most stacked field in kickboxing history.

Kickboxing’s featherweight division is loaded with true pound-for-pound great talent. The reveal of the 2024 ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix adds more excitement to what ONE will bring to the table later this year.
